We live in the digital age, it has never been simpler to make big budget movies. You can shoot a HD film using over the counter camera equipment and editing is a breeze now that you can get professional software without hiting the £1K mark. So how come the industry doesn't really reflect this?

I'm interested in peoples thoughts on this ... how much do we all think a movie really costs? Visually t's pretty easy to tell the difference between 'Avatar' and 'Paranormal Activity' but is the pricetag really reflective of the cost or is the industry refusing to acknowledge how it's craft has been simplified over the years?
